We have a thinking mind, an emotional heart, and a human need for connection and belonging.<\/p>\n<p><strong>These aspects of the \u2018whole\u2019 person also need to be taken care of<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Think about your nutritional, environmental, social, emotional and spiritual needs. These are small parts that together combine your human experience.<\/p>\n<p>They are <em>crucial<\/em> factors to consider in your whole person self-care routine.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re not taking care of yourself as a whole person, you may have developed certain behaviours, distractions or coping mechanisms that, quite possibly, are preventing you from feeling truly relaxed, safe, supported, challenged, and loved.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\"><strong>Think about it\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"swift-in-viewport\">\n<li>How are you tending to the relationships in your life?<\/li>\n<li>When do you set time aside for your favourite activities?<\/li>\n<li>What are you doing to exercise your creative talents?<\/li>\n<li>How often are you stepping back to breathe and reflect?<\/li>\n<li>How regularly are you reaching out for friends and laughter?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"swift-in-viewport\"><strong>Give some thought to the following in identifying any neglected areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"swift-in-viewport\">\n<li>Are you\u00a0using food\u00a0to mask loneliness, swallow anger, or bury feelings?<\/li>\n<li>Are you\u00a0avoiding conversations or emotions\u00a0for fear of conflict or rejection?<\/li>\n<li>Are you\u00a0working too hard to prove your worth\u00a0at the cost of your hunger, sleep or relationships?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In short, how have you been approaching your own self-care routine?
